Strandakar Hotell & Restaurang, Gotland

Strandakar Hotell & Restaurang is a beautiful country hotel on the remote Gotland island in the Baltic Sea. The hotel has 12 rooms total and a beautiful Scandinavian design.

As the room photos below indicate I arrived late and was impressed with my room. It had an ultra-comfortable bed upstairs, a sitting area downstairs and a beautiful modern bathroom with a rainshower next to it. The cleanliness was very impressive. Maybe more a feeling of a home than a typical hotel room.

In the morning I met with the owners Charlotte and Lars, and had breakfast. They are very friendly and I had good conversations. Charlotte helped me plan an itinerary for Gotlanud and I went out to experience this beautiful island by car.

Strandakar Hotell & Restaurang has a Booking.com guest satisfaction score of 9.4 which is very high for a hotel in this part of the world and very impressive. A combination of great service and stunning comfortable accommodations in a quiet location makes it easy to like this hotel. Finally, it’s worth mentioning that their restaurant with chef Andreas Hedman has great reviews. Overall a great small hotel on the fantastic island of Gotland.
