Southern Sun de Wagen, Stellenbosch

Southern Sun de Wagen is a small 22-room hotel which is located in three country houses with a stunning design. My experience started with a check-in in the evening before arriving at a beautiful room with an impressive comfortable bed and a freestanding bathtub as the highlights. A collection of high-quality chocolates was a very nice welcome amenity to start a stay in this lovely town surrounded by the charm of the Cape Winelands.

Established over five decades ago, the group has grown into a trusted name, offering various accommodation options. Southern Sun de Wagen doesn’t have many facilities, but a small outdoor area with sunbeds and a pool is an area for relaxation and a public area with an honesty bar. The breakfast is served in a restaurant on the same street instead of at the hotel itself. The service was friendly and accommodating which is probably one of the main reasons why this hotel has a high 9.0 Booking.com guest satisfaction score.
