Santiburi Beach Resort & Spa, located on the serene Mae Nam Beach in Koh Samui, Thailand, offers a luxurious escape surrounded by tropical beauty. Guests can indulge in elegant villas, exquisite dining experiences, and rejuvenating spa treatments. With its pristine beachfront setting and lush gardens, Santiburi Beach Resort & Spa provides a great resort for relaxation and exploration in one of Thailand’s most picturesque destinations.
My arrival experience: Warm welcome with a drink before being escorted to the villa.
What I liked the most: The villa and the beautiful public swimming pool.
What about the food: Sadly, I have to say it’s bad. I tried both their international restaurant on the beach and their indoor Thai restaurant. An inedible pizza and below-average Thai food are not good enough for a Leading Hotels of the World member. The breakfast buffet was also very disappointing and one of the worst I have seen in any resort in Thailand. Sad, but that was my opinion.
What about the service: The service is good, and many of the staff are friendly and kind. However, more training would be needed to reach a level worthy of LHW, in my opinion. I am sorry for saying this, but I have to be honest.
What about the rooms? They are beautifully designed villas, and what I liked most about the resort was an interesting bathtub and rainshower in the bathroom, but could have made more effort with their bath products. I would expect a premium product like Molton Brown or Bulgari in an LHW, but I would prefer Ren. Some villas have a large swimming pool, while mine has a plunge pool. The location right on the beach is lovely, and I find the villas to be up to the standards of LHW. I think improving the food and service a bit would be a good idea to deserve the full status. The potential is there; a chef from abroad is probably the best to do.
Number of rooms: 77 rooms.
Type of property: Resort.
Location: Koh Samui, Thailand.
Facilities: A beautiful spa, swimming pool and an outdated gym with old equipment.
Complimentary internet: Yes, medium speed.
Affiliations: The Leading Hotels of the World.
My overall impression: Good+ experience. If the food was great, so would the overall impression probably have been.
