Raffles Praslin, Seychelles
Raffles Seychelles is a special resort located on Praslin Island, the second largest island of the Seychelles archipelago. I took a flight from Mahé and arrived in the small local Praslin Airport where the hotel picked me up. The welcome was warm and I was offered a drink before being escorted to the room. I stayed in an ocean-view villa; as the name indicates, it had a beautiful ocean view. Other highlights included a private swimming pool on the terrace. The design was very contemporary and with attention to detail. A handwritten welcome card and champagne are welcome amenities, and a handwritten welcome from the housekeepers is also included. An outdoor shower was a nice detail, as well as the comfortable bed, which gave me a good night’s sleep.
The food was a very good experience. Breakfast and dinner were up to a high standard. Don’t expect Michelin level, but good ingredients and an impressive breakfast buffet. The service was very good as well, but as it’s new, I’m sure it will improve over time as well. Overall, it was a really great experience, but also very costly. I prefer it to Lemuria, but it all depends on your own taste.
