Radisson Safari Hotel Hoedspruit

Radisson Safari Hotel Hoedspruit opened earlier this year as Radisson’s first safari hotel in Africa and as the 11th Radisson hotel in Africa. I drove from Johannesburg and arrived excited to check out this 138-room property.

I received a warm welcome upon arrival and was very impressed with the room in which I slept two nights. The room had a modern design with a comfortable bed and a lovely bathroom with a separate bathtub and an impressive rainshower. A big thanks to the housekeeping for making the room allergy-friendly and it ended up being one of the best hotel rooms I experienced this year.

Located near the Kruger National Park and surrounded by the breathtaking natural beauty of the Limpopo Province, the hotel offers guests easy access to wildlife (including the “Big Five” — lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos, and buffalos) and outdoor exploration.

Driving from Johannesburg is very exciting with a lot of beautiful scenery and I can highly self-driving, but if guests prefer to fly, Eastgate Airport is located about 20 minutes drive from the hotel. South Africa is one of my favourite countries in the world and driving by myself in remote parts of the country is one of the most exciting activities to do in the country, at least for me.

The facilities at Radisson Safari Hotel Hoedspruit include on-site dining, a fitness centre, a spa with complimentary sauna usage, a Kids’ Club, and swimming pools. The service was surprisingly great for a newly opened hotel with professional and kind service which was much appreciated.

Finally, I would like to compliment the hotel for their value. They have very attractive rates for a high-quality hotel in an excellent location. Instead of staying at very expensive safari lodges, it would be much cheaper to stay here and do day activities with Radisson as a base. I highly recommend the hotel which at the time of writing has reached an impressive 8.8 guest satisfaction score on Booking.com.
