Kurumba Maldives
What I Liked: That you can count on Kurumba plus Thila is a good restaurant by Maldivian standards.
What About the Service? I found the service to be great overall. I found Kurumba to have more of a corporate feel than most Maldivian resorts. It felt a bit like Conrad, and it might have something to do with the size of the resort and the management make more of an effort when it comes to the training of the staff.
What About the Food? One of the reasons to select Kurumba is definitely the restaurant, Thila, one of the highest-ranked restaurants in the Maldives on Tripadvisor. I’ve often been disappointed with the food on several of the private island resorts in the Maldives. Lots of resorts focus more on cost-saving than providing the best possible food for their guests. As the food is great at Thila, Kurumba would be one of the few Maldivian resorts I would consider to stay for more than a few days. I just can’t enjoy the Maldives quite as much if the food isn’t great and that is why Kurumba would be one of my choices if I go back and stay at one resort instead of the usual island hopping trips.
What About My Room? On my third visit to Kurumba Maldives, I was lucky to stay in one of their deluxe pool villas. A 160 sqm pool villa with a spacious pool as seen in the photo above, a large balcony, indoor and outdoor shower, bathtub, comfortable bed and complimentary internet access. The other rooms I stayed in at Kurumba were also very nice, but this was certainly something different which of course comes at a different price tag.

Type of Property: Resort.
Location: Maldives. It is around ten minutes from the international airport.
Facilities: Pool, fitness centre, spa, tennis court, and bar.
Complimentary Internet: Yes and free.
My Overall Impression: Great experience. Kurumba Maldives is a safe and easy choice in the Maldives. Instead of waiting for seaplanes, you can quickly be at a great private island resort with good service, nice rooms and some of the best food in the Maldives.
