Canaves Oia Boutique Hotel, Santorini

Canaves Oia Hotel is a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World organisation and is one of the best hotels on the world-famous island of Santorini. Canaves has a special location in the village of Oia. Only 17 rooms total, all suites, in six different categories; classic suite, junior suite, superior suite plunge pool, honeymoon suite plunge pool, river pool suite, and grand suite plunge pool.

My experience started with a warm welcome at check-in before being escorted to the room. I stayed in a two-bedroom suite with a small outdoor plunge pool as the highlight. A lovely room with a unique design, unlike anything I’ve ever stayed in. I have often been disappointed with food at hotels, but this hotel made a good impression. The breakfast is great and the service at the breakfast is very attentive. The staff is in general fantastic as this hotel and the atmosphere is lovely.

The location is ideal for exploring Santorini. It’s set in the village of Oia which can get crowded so one recommendation would be to wake up early to explore it and to take the best possible pictures during your stay. I stayed at this hotel with a friend and it was worth it to get up early. It’s in general highly recommended at any destination with mass tourism and stunning sights. This hotel has a very impressive Booking.com guest satisfaction score of 9.5 and it’s very well deserved. A unique hotel experience on a stunning island.
